Info on NBN included in notice

Isis Town and Country - - News -

RATEPAYERS across the Bundaberg Region have received their rates notices in the past week and are urged to read the additional information in the rates correspondence.

An informational brochure containing an explanation of the National Broadband Network rollout is included.

Bundaberg Region Mayor Mal Forman said the council had agreed to an approach from NBN to include the information, which the council felt was in the best interests of residents across the region.

“Obviously our rates mailout targets households across the region and this information relating to the NBN rollout is essential reading for all residents,” Cr Forman said.

“It provides easy to understand information relating to what the NBN is, what residents need to do when the NBN arrives in their area, and how average households can switch to the NBN network.

“This brochure is purely information based and in no way should be construed as council endorsing any product.”

Residents may check the status of the NBN rollout in their area by logging on to www.nbnco.com.au.

Any questions relating to the NBN rollout should be directed to the NBN, as indicated in the information on the flyer included with the rates notices.
