Visit studio on exhibition tour
CHILDERS Arts Space has a new exhibition, Earth Coats, by Howard-based artist Jo Williams.
The exhibition explores the layers of different experiences that everyone gathers on their journey through life through the different coats we all wear.
Originally inspired by a fairytale, Williams’ imagination and creativity shine through in her creations, which are based on the iconic shape of the kimono.
Each coat in the exhibition tells various stories of life’s wounds, experiences and the way that coats can sometimes weigh us down as well as protect us. The exhibition opened on Tuesday.
You can join in tomorrow at 5.30pm at the gallery to celebrate the opening with Ms Williams.
This is a free event with free drinks and refreshments provided.
You can also join Rebecca MacLean, Bundaberg Regional Galleries public programs officer, on a Earth Coats bus trip and studio tour on Thursday, February 25, at 10am.
The bus tour will offer participants the opportunity to view the exhibition and listen to a floor talk by Ms Williams.
Morning tea will be provided at the gallery before continuing with a tour of Ms Williams’ studio at Howard.
For further information and bookings, contact the gallery on 4130 4876.
