Gin Gin Showgirl Quest
THE Gin Gin AP & I Society is looking for young ladies aged between 17 (must be 18 by August 1, 2016) and 28 years old to register for Miss Showgirl 2016.
Some of the conditions of entry:
Must not have been married and remain unmarried until the conclusion of the Royal Queensland Show
Must not have or be having a child prior to the state final judging
Must be Australian or a naturalised Australian
Previous state winners and state runners-up in the Miss Showgirl awards are not eligible to enter again.
Entrants need to be available to attend the sub-chamber and state final judging if necessary.
The state finalist must be able to stay in Brisbane for four days and attend the Royal Queensland Show for three of them.
The ultimate Miss Showgirl winner must remain in Brisbane to perform official duties up until and including People’s Day of the Royal Queensland Show.
The Society is also looking for a Rural Ambassador, which is open to both males and females aged between 20 and under 30 years (as at May 1, 2016).
Some of the conditions of entry: Can be married or single Must be Australian or a naturalised Australian that permanently resides in Queensland
Should be actively involved, or demonstrate a readiness to become actively involved in, their local show, also have knowledge about current rural issues pertaining to their local area, state and Australia and have a strong affiliation towards agriculture.
The award seeks to attract all young rural people who symbolise the rural spirit: people with vitality, who are forward thinking and with a passion for the land and local country shows.
All entries must include a completed entry form, a recent photograph and a covering letter.
Entrants must attend all functions prior to and including the Gin Gin Show Ball, the High Tea and the Gin Gin Show.
Entrants must be available for a minimum of two days at the state finals.
