First-class playground for kids
STAGE two of the Gin Gin Recreation Reserve upgrade will soon be under way, delivering first-class recreational facilities to the community.
Site preparation works are expected to start in coming weeks with building of the new playground facilities to begin in early March, weather permitting.
A council spokesperson said the project included a playground, two picnic shelters and barbecue facilities.
“Younger residents will enjoy this area which will include the installation of a 40m flying fox, a tower slide as well as play facilities suited to younger children,” the spokesperson said.
“This will complement the existing facilities within the recreation reserve, which already features a skate bowl, and ensure the park offers something for children of all ages.”
The project, budgeted at $200,000, will be undertaken by local commercial playground manufacturer Willplay and is expected to be completed in April, weather permitting.
Stage one of the upgrade included the installation of shade sails over the skate bowl area.
