Isis Ladies – Re­sult of game played on Fe­bru­ary 11 Cham­pi­onship Pairs. L. Grant, J. West def D. Pratt, R. Zim­i­tat 24–18. Nom­i­na­tions are now open for Cham­pi­onship Triples and will close and be drawn af­ter bowls on Fe­bru­ary 25. First round will be played on March 3. Ladies the sheet for nom­i­na­tions is on the no­tice board. All games are play, sub or for­feit. On Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 14, Isis bowlers hosted bowlers from the Wide Bay District Veter­ans Bowls Club, 30 lo­cal bowlers wel­comed 30 bowlers from the vis­it­ing club to a great so­cial af­ter­noon of bowls. The 60 bowlers were all mixed to­gether mak­ing for a full green with all eight rinks in use. It was a nice re­lax­ing af­ter­noon of bowls with ev­ery­one en­joy­ing them­selves. Mau­rie would like to thank mem­bers and the vis­i­tors who par­tic­i­pated in this great af­ter­noon of so­cial bowls. Lawn bowls was the win­ner. The vis­i­tors had morn­ing tea on ar­rival, held there meet­ing then it was time for a lovely lunch. Win­ners for Isis were R. Dick­en­son, T. Greenhalgh, L. Par­sons and K. Bur­ton and for the vis­it­ing team L. Bas­sett, J. Styles and M. Scott. Raf­fle win­ners Fruit tray B. Stephen­son (vis­i­tor), Sponge Roll (made by pres­i­dent Denise) R. Rodgers and bot­tle wine B. Cowan. Thanks to ticket sellers for the work they do for our club and thanks also to the bar and kitchen staff for look­ing af­ter the bowlers. The day was com­pleted with a small Tombola run by the vis­it­ing bowlers with prizes be­ing evenly shared. The vis­i­tors came from clubs in Mary­bor­ough, Her­vey Bay and Bur­rum Heads. Mem­bers look for­ward to their visit in 2017.
