With blue sky and white clouds, Sunday, February 14, brought out 20 players to game of stroke and putt on the front nine holes. The first two players came in with an impressive net score of 31, causing a count back with Dave Durie, being the eventual winner and losing 2.7 from his handicap. Second place went to Marg Dennett losing 2.3 from her handicap with 3rd place going to Bob Champney losing 1.7 from his handicap handicap. Least putts went to Dave Durie with 12 putts. Combined longest drive went to Nigel Ison. Center fairway shot went to Bill Kirchhof. A-grade nearest the pin on the 1st went to Marc Harper. Rob Blows won the B grade approach on the first. The combined nearest the pin on the 4th went to Bob Champney. The Golden circle remains at 2.95m. The combined nearest the pin on the 6th also went to Bob Champney. And finally the approach on the 7th was won by Dave Durie. Next week will be Ladies Day with a Stroke and putt on the back nine. Men can take the opportunity to put on a skirt and a few women’s accessories and find out if they are good enough to hold their own playing off the ladies tees. The captain will stand down and the Ladies will set the rules for the morning.
