Thursday, ABC, 9.30pm
You never know what to expect from this rather enjoyable British cop-comedy except, well, the unexpected. From the slightly twisted mind of Paul Abbott, who brought us the fantastically black Shameless, No Offence’s title should be taken quite literally – virtually no one or anything is too precious, awkward or strange to be taken on. It’s a far cry from your standard staid cop show – these Manchester cops inhabit a bold and funny world that strikes a chord with many. Tonight, the team (including Elaine Cassidy) uncover a scam encouraging people to sell their kidneys, while the search for another girl abducted by the serial killer leads to a breakthrough.
