BEAUTIFUL horses, skillful riders and a program of events that promises a full day of action and entertainment is on offer at the Bundaberg Equestrian Expo at the Recreation Precinct this Sunday.

A Bundaberg Regional Council spokesperson said the expo had attracted interest from a broad range of equine disciplines as well as displays from numerous suppliers to the equestrian industry.

“The Bundaberg and South Kolan Pony Clubs have collaborated in providing a show jumping progam that will bring out the competitive spirit in riders of all ages and abilities,” they said.

“Competitors ride against the clock with the fastest time and least number of penalties deciding the winner.

“The program has attracted tremendous support from local sponsors including Peter Stewart Chartered Accountants; Bundy Star Truck and Machinery, Ulton and Wessel Petroleum BP Airport. “The diversity of competitive horse sports will be matched with displays and demonstrations by other groups including Riding for the Disabled.

“Interaction with horses has a wonderful therapeutic effect on many people with disabilities or ailments.

“The numerous trade exhibitors and refreshment stalls in the main pavilion and the varied fun activities for children including pony and cart rides will ensure the equestrian expo provides a program that will appeal to the entire family.”
