Equestrian expo set for Bundaberg
BEAUTIFUL horses, skillful riders and a program of events that promises a full day of action and entertainment is on offer at the Bundaberg Equestrian Expo at the Recreation Precinct this Sunday.
A Bundaberg Regional Council spokesperson said the expo had attracted interest from a broad range of equine disciplines as well as displays from numerous suppliers to the equestrian industry.
“The Bundaberg and South Kolan Pony Clubs have collaborated in providing a show jumping progam that will bring out the competitive spirit in riders of all ages and abilities,” they said.
“Competitors ride against the clock with the fastest time and least number of penalties deciding the winner.
“The program has attracted tremendous support from local sponsors including Peter Stewart Chartered Accountants; Bundy Star Truck and Machinery, Ulton and Wessel Petroleum BP Airport. Warrego Warmblood Stud which holds regular show jumping clinics in Bundaberg has also come on board as a sponsor.
“The diversity of competitive horse sports will be matched with displays and demonstrations by other groups including Riding for the Disabled.
“Interaction with horses has a wonderful therapeutic effect on many people with disabilities or ailments.
“Anyone wishing to learn a few basic horse skills should avail themselves of the opportunity to take in the Essential Horsemanship Skills demonstration which is an educational program not to be missed.
“The numerous trade exhibitors and refreshment stalls in the main pavilion and the varied fun activities for children including pony and cart rides will ensure the equestrian expo provides a program that will appeal to the entire family.”
The expo will be open 8.30am to 4.30pm. Entry is via University Dr. Admission is $5 for adults and children under 12 are admitted free.
