Locked in over the Easter long weekend

Isis Town and Country - - News -

FAMILIES made the most of the Easter long weekend, with jet skiers flocking to Paradise Dam to take advantage of the perfect conditions.

But for one family the fun and laughter turned to frustration as the day campers were locked in behind a padlocked gate.

The road leading through the property had fallen victim to numerous floods, leaving the trail unsafe.

The campers were given permission to access the property and given a key to unlock the gate.

As the Smith family and friends approached the gate, a replacement padlock had been used and a notice attached saying track was closed until further notice.

Cinda and Alex Smith have two young children and were upset they had been locked in.

“What if something happened? I tried to contact the person on the notice, no answer and the reception was closed,” Mrs Smith said.

“No one checked the track or the grounds before locking the gate.”
