Drivers rest in Gin Gin after a long weekend

Isis Town and Country - - Kolan News -

THE Easter long weekend had volunteers on their feet at Gin Gin Driver Reviver as hundreds took advantage of the free coffee and the opportunity to take a break from driving.

Holiday-makers took to Queensland roads last Friday morning to celebrate the Easter long weekend.

Easter came early this year and motorists took it slow and steady as police were out in force.

Gin Gin SES volunteered time to the Driver Reviver stop where more than 75 cups of coffee an hour were served.

SES local controller Kellie Bolstad said it was great to see plenty of families stopping for a break.

“I know what it’s like travelling with a car load of children. Driver Revivers are handy,” she said.

“We encourage every driver to stop for 20 minutes at least, just enough time to have a stretch,” she said.
