Appeared in court charged with driving off after hitting a parked car. An early guilty plea resulted in a fine of $900 and four-month disqualification from driving.
Katrina Leigh Geisel:
Charged with shoplifting from the Childers IGA store. Fined $500 after an early guilty plea.
Kevin Wayne Meikle John:
Was caught drink-driving early this year and blew a reading of 0.063. With his history of drink-driving dating back to the ’70s, Meikle John was successful with his application for a restricted driver’s licence. He must not drive with passengers and is restricted to drive only between 8am-5pm and for work purposes only. He was also fined a total of $350.
Glenda Bernice Nock:
Appeared in the Childers court for one charge of drink-driving, a roadside breath test revealed a reading of 0.089.
An early guilty plea resulted in a fine of $450 and four-month licence disqualification.
Jessie James Holzberger:
Was caught drink-driving and blew a reading of 0.160, with an early plea of guilty he was lucky to escape jail time.
Fined a total of more than $1600 and received a suspended sentence.
Andrew Timothy Roper:
Appeared in front of the magistrate charged with entering a dwelling and committing an indictable offence and the unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
It was his first offence and appearance in court and he made a guilty plea.
The magistrate said the court took a zero-tolerance attitude to break-ins and sentenced him to 12 months imprisonment, to be suspended after four months.
