Cookie will be for­ever in my heart and soul

SAD news spread across the re­gion on March 20 fol­low­ing the death of Mike “Cookie” Cook.

Chris Cook thanked the com­mu­nity of for its sup­port, and the cards, flow­ers, meals and kind words she’s re­ceived.

For the past sev­eral weeks, it has been a strug­gle as Chris and her two chil­dren, Wayne and Amanda, come to terms with the death of a great hus­band and lov­ing fa­ther.

“I want to thank ev­ery­one for all their sup­port given to Wayne, Amanda and I. We are all very grate­ful,” Mrs Cook said.

“I was un­aware of how much love ev­ery­one had for Cookie.

“Thank you to ev­ery­one that turned out for his cel­e­bra­tion of life.

“I was sur­prised to see so many peo­ple.

“It has been a strug­gle for us with Cookie’s pass­ing, but I know he is in a great place.

“He was the love of my life and he will be in our hearts and minds for­ever.”

Mrs Cook said she missed her hus­band and some days were hard.

“Cookie will be with me for­ever and I can’t thank ev­ery­one enough for all the gen­er­ous sup­port.

“I don’t know how to thank ev­ery­one – it’s over­whelm­ing, the kind­ness of oth­ers,” she said.

“I love you all and I hope his mem­ory lives on and he is in the hearts of the com­mu­nity.

“I miss him ev­ery day.”
