Upgrade to street to secure safety
VASTLY improved safety around Forest View Aged Care facility and its adjacent retirement units will result from work being undertaken by Bundaberg Regional Council on Morgan St, Childers.
The council’s roads and drainage spokesman Wayne Honor said $220,000 had been budgeted for the work which would involve widening Morgan St, installation of kerb and channelling and asphalt resurfacing.
“Work on the entrance into Morgan St will offer significantly improved sight lines for traffic exiting into Broadhurst St,” Cr Honor said.
Divisional representative Cr Bill Trevor said Morgan St is an access street into the community’s aged care facility as well as the retirement complex and this work represents improved safety measures for people using the street.
“I know the staff and residents are thoroughly delighted with the outcome of this work,” he said.
