Childers sugar history will come to life

Isis Town and Country - - News -

A STORY which was written more than 100 years ago will come to life in the new musical Raw.

The play, Red Soil, White Sugar, was written by Erroll O’Neill in 1911 and was based on the sugar strike which centred mainly around the Childers area.

PilotLight Productions Tony Carey has taken it in his stride to reproduce the play with 35 local performers busily exercising their vocals.

The musical premiere will be at the Childers Culture Centre on July 29 followed by two more performances at the Childers Festival.

If you can assist with behind the scenes contact Dianne Styles on 0401 561 381.

Tickets can be booked online www.bundaberg tickets.com.au or phone 1300 855 580.
