Juniors cap off stellar season
Isis holds awards night
THE Isis District Little Athletics club wrapped up a successful season with their presentation night last Friday.
Athletes were presented with their achievement certificates and plaques and the highlights of the season recounted.
Michael Ebert and Abbie Garrison were announced as the junior champions with Daniel Thurlow and Charli Murton the runners-up.
The senior boys’ champion award saw a tie between Joseph Thurlow and Joshua Lane, and Jackie Freshwater was named as the senior girls’ champion. Luke Adamson and Kaylee Garrison were awarded the runners-up medals.
Newcomers to the club, James Duguid and Molly Woods, were rewarded for stellar seasons with the junior and senior encouragement awards.
The contribution of Maxene Trapp was acknowledged with the clubmanship award. Maxene is the club’s uniform officer and has undertaken catering duties as well as being a regional official.
Long serving committee member, Linda Manski, was thanked for her work in the club and was presented with a Little Athletics Queensland 15-year service badge. Mrs Manski has been with the club since the first season and has decided to step down from the committee.
During the off-season the club will be making application to Queensland Athletics to allow them to expand operations to include adults into the club. If you are interested please email firstname.lastname@example.org
