Ju­niors cap off stel­lar sea­son

THE Isis District Lit­tle Ath­let­ics club wrapped up a suc­cess­ful sea­son with their pre­sen­ta­tion night last Fri­day.

Ath­letes were pre­sented with their achieve­ment cer­tifi­cates and plaques and the high­lights of the sea­son re­counted.

Michael Ebert and Ab­bie Gar­ri­son were an­nounced as the ju­nior cham­pi­ons with Daniel Thur­low and Charli Mur­ton the run­ners-up.

The se­nior boys’ cham­pion award saw a tie be­tween Joseph Thur­low and Joshua Lane, and Jackie Fresh­wa­ter was named as the se­nior girls’ cham­pion. Luke Adam­son and Kaylee Gar­ri­son were awarded the run­ners-up medals.

New­com­ers to the club, James Duguid and Molly Woods, were re­warded for stel­lar sea­sons with the ju­nior and se­nior en­cour­age­ment awards.

The con­tri­bu­tion of Max­ene Trapp was ac­knowl­edged with the club­man­ship award. Max­ene is the club’s uni­form of­fi­cer and has un­der­taken cater­ing du­ties as well as be­ing a re­gional of­fi­cial.

Long serv­ing com­mit­tee mem­ber, Linda Man­ski, was thanked for her work in the club and was pre­sented with a Lit­tle Ath­let­ics Queens­land 15-year ser­vice badge. Mrs Man­ski has been with the club since the first sea­son and has de­cided to step down from the com­mit­tee.

Dur­ing the off-sea­son the club will be mak­ing ap­pli­ca­tion to Queens­land Ath­let­ics to al­low them to ex­pand oper­a­tions to in­clude adults into the club. If you are in­ter­ested please email isis­d­lac@gmail.com
