Show your support

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion - Jodie Dixon Reporter jodie.dixon@isistc

HELLO Childers, I am back after my short holiday.

I didn’t go anywhere and I did gain a little weight watching midday movies.

Watching them I am sure kills more brain cells than alcohol.

It’s great to be back on deck and a massive thanks to Emma Reid for filling in for me. Emma truly enjoyed her time working on Town and Country.

Things are ramping up as Childers gets set to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Childers Show. Organisers are encouraging groups and clubs to get involved. Last Saturday night I was invited to the Miss Showgirl quest dinner – it was a great event for organisers and I wish all the young ladies the best of luck.

The winner will be announced at the opening to the Show on May 21.

A week after Childers Show, Gin Gin is set to hold its show. Organisers promise it will be bigger and better than ever before.

Well done to the students of Booyal for taking up the challenge of a junior committee to support the Booyal Memorial Hall Committee. All the best.

I hope all the mums out there had a great Mother’s Day.

I would like to know what our Childers mums did on Mothers Day and the gifts your children made or purchased for you.

Send in your photos with your mum.

Let us know at Town and Country what you would like to see in the paper, it’s your community and your community paper. Stay safe on the roads.

Also, let us know what you have been up to or your coming events so we can get the word out.

I wish all the young ladies the best of luck.
