Make use of solar

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

RE: POWER prices hurting farmers. Do they really care or do they just like to complain? On March 27, I wrote to Bundaberg Canegrowers offering the benefit of my 28 years of experience in the pump and irrigation industry and six years solar pumping in a consultancy capacity at absolute no gain or benefit to myself. I outlined the installation of a system that would operate a travelling irrigator at a cost of less than what it currently costs to run a normal pump for 12 months. The solar component of the system was movable so the power supply could be moved from one water source to another with pumps permanent at each. They didn’t even have the decency to respond to my mail. It is just too easy to turn on a switch and complain about what it costs. Malcolm Taylor Gin Gin
