What’s bear’s name?
Children invited to name new Flourish mascot
HE’S cute, he’s cuddly and he’s the mascot of the Flourish Family Fun Day.
The only problem is, he’s yet to be named!
Bundaberg Regional Council community and cultural services portfolio spokeswoman Judy Peters introduced the friendly bear to the community and called on locals to help name the “new face of Flourish”.
“We need a name for our new mascot and who better to name him than the young people that this event is designed for,” Cr Peters said.
Cr Peters said the new mascot perfectly embodied what Flourish Family Fun Day was about.
“Flourish is an opportunity for families to spend some quality time together and have a little bit of fun,” Cr Peters said.
“It is about celebrating the importance of the family unit while connecting parents and guardians with essential services and products available within our region.
“This mascot will act as the bridge which connects families to these services, which they may otherwise be unaware of.
“During the event, young people will have the opportunity to put their suggestions forward as part of a mascot naming activity.”
Divisional representative Peter Heuser encouraged families to attend the Flourish Family Fun Day on Monday, June 27.
“This event is about promoting an inclusive community, which is a relevant message all year round, not just on this one day,” Cr Heuser said.
“Come along to beautiful Boreham Park and take advantage of this terrific community facility and the activities and stalls on offer through the Flourish Family Fun Day.”
Flourish will be held from 9am to noon on Monday, June 27, and everyone is welcome.
NAME THE BEAR: The Flourish Family Fun Day mascot needs a name and is looking to the region for some help.
