LOCALS have been calling out for months for fresh local produce with a focus on healthier living.

Opening their shop doors for the first time last Friday morning were Gypsy Sherlock and John “Sharpie” Wolfe, both advocates of living naturally and preservative- free.

The friendly duo decided to set up Raw Earth Food after requests from locals.

Ms Sherlock said more and more people were crying out for local products and produce.

“We have plenty of stock to fill your pantry at home and you can order products on request,” she said.

“We have grains, soaps, plants, honey, biodegradable products, gluten-free products and we encourage growers or producers to display and sell their products.

“Both of us have health issues and we understand the importance of healthier living and eating.”

The store also offers many other great services, such as access to a naturopath.

The welcoming duo invites the community to pop in for a look.

Mr Wolfe said they aimed to provide great local products at great prices.

“We have a great line of products and gift ideas,” he said.

“Our region grows a great variety of produce and we want to showcase our region’s products.”

The pair have set up business in the original Town and Country building, the previous tenants being the fabulous Pilotlight Productions.

The store is trading from 9am but days may vary during the first few weeks.

The business has already hosted a very successful cooking display by Kate Danninger from Goodmix Superfood and plans on running more demonstrations.

The shop is called Raw Earth Food and it has space to share, so if you have products you’d like to display, feel free to visit the store and speak with Ms Sherlock or Mr Wolfe.
