The Scouts sign up

Isis Town and Country - - Childers Show -

DO you want to help your community and gain leadership and management qualifications?

If so, Childers Scouts want to hear from you.

Leader in Charge Bob Edmiston said the Childers Scout Group had provided a scouting experience for the youth of Childers since 1953 and were looking for leaders in the Cub and Scout sections. The Cub and Scout sections cover youth aged between 8 and 15 years.

Mr Edmiston, who has been involved with scouting for 19 years, said scouts took part in a huge range of indoor and outdoor activities including camps.

“The best thing about volunteering is watching the youth develop and grow to make a useful contribution to society,” he said

Scouts provide the training at no cost. There’s no experience necessary and training is delivered by e-learning and practical weekend courses.

Scouting came to Australia in August 1908; it was founded in England in 1907

Scouts Australia has about 66,000 members
