THE revival of “Old Boys” Association Reunions will celebrate its 87th year next weekend.

On Sunday, May 29 the University of Queensland Gatton Past Students’ Association will hold the first reunion in Bundaberg for approximately 15 years.

Many years ago the Bundaberg Branch of the Past Students’ Association was very active and held annual reunions.

The UQGPSA are working to bring these reunions back to Bundaberg. Invitations have been sent to 500 graduates to meet for a reunion lunch.

The association hopes to attract more recent graduates and representatives of the female student community which is well represented in Bundaberg and districts.

The first annual reunion dinner of the Bundaberg Branch of the Gatton College Old Boys was held with 20 people on May 27, 1933 at McRobbin’s Café, Bourbong St.

At that time only male students were able to study at the college.

In a significant turnaround from the early days, of the 1600 students on campus today the greater number are female.
