Men

The Cap­tain sur­prised some mem­bers with the stroke ver­sus par com­pe­ti­tion the or­der of the day. Bill Cowan ob­vi­ously en­joyed the event win­ning with a score of plus 5 from vis­i­tor Mick Martens on plus 3. Len Stal­lard claimed third with a square on count­back from Phil Luck­ett and Craig Reynolds who claimed run­downs. Other run­downs went to Bill Her­ring, Nigel Radin and Larry Per­shouse. Craig (7.8m) also won the A Di­vi­sion pin­shot on 1&10, with Mick Martens (0.97m) also win­ning the B Di­vi­sion ap­proach. The Club Cham­pi­onships be­gin next week and we hope all mem­bers nom­i­nate for their rel­e­vant grade by Thurs­day if pos­si­ble. As al­ways there will be a daily com­pe­ti­tion as well on each of the four days. Re­minder: He­len Ric­cia­rdi is of­fer­ing a “Pizza and Pasta” evening af­ter the pre­sen­ta­tions in con­junc­tion with a club “Happy Hour”, the sec­ond in the series for 2016. Women

Val Plath won the Bisque com­pe­ti­tion on Thurs­day with a plus 7, from Co­ralie Vol­gyesi on plus 3, sec­ond on a count­back from Lisa Cooney who won a run­down. He­len Ric­cia­rdi won the ap­proach putting her sec­ond shot in the hole. This Thurs­day mem­bers will de­cide the com­pe­ti­tion be­fore hit-off at 8:30 a.m. Val also won on Satur­day, her mi­nus 1 score enough to win on a count­back from Joy Cart­ner. Joy (1.98m) also won the ap­proach on 4&13. The Club Cham­pi­onship be­gins this Satur­day and all names should be in by this Thurs­day so a draw can be com­pleted for Satur­day. As usual a daily com­pe­ti­tion will be run in con­junc­tion with the Cham­pi­onship. Re­minder: He­len of­fers a “Pizza and Pasta Night” af­ter pre­sen­ta­tions, to­gether with a Club “Happy Hour”. Vets

Norm Plath led the A Di­vi­sion field with 38 points in the sin­gle sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion on Tues­day. Kev Den­ham was sec­ond on 36 points, on a count­back from Phil Luck­ett. La­zlo Vol­gyesi recorded 41 points to win eas­ily in B Di­vi­sion from Ted Buck­land and Harry Zawacki, both on 37 points, with Ted claim­ing sec­ond on a count­back. Dean Page (in the hole) won the Men’s ap­proach on 1&10; Val Plath (0.80m) the Ladies’ ap­proach on 6&15; and Terry Small­man (0.18m) the Com­bined ap­proach on 4&13. Paul McCar­ragher won led the Chook Run win­ners with 30 nett from, Harry Zawacki (30), Phil Luck­ett (31) and Cyn­thia Draper (32) on a spin. Next Tues­day, we play V.I.P. sin­gle stroke com­pe­ti­tion for May which forms part of the com­pe­ti­tion for the Jan Mun­gomery Salver.
