Mornings a success

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

THANK YOU to the thousands of Queenslanders who tipped the balance in the fight against cancer by raising their cups for Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea during May. More than 5800 hosts around the state gathered in living rooms, community centres, schools, and workplaces to help us try and raise more than $2.5 million for lifesaving research, support, and education. On behalf of Cancer Council Queensland I would like to commend all the individuals, employers, and media outlets who put on the kettle for the cause. Through the simple act of sharing a morning tea, you have provided vital hope to all Queenslanders affected by cancer. And our cause has never been more important. One person is diagnosed with cancer every 20 minutes in Queensland – all of us know someone who has been devastated by the disease. Every dollar goes directly towards supporting those in need. With your generosity we will continue to proudly serve all Queenslanders, and all cancers. If you haven’t yet hosted an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea – it’s not too late. Hosts can hold a morning tea anytime throughout May or June. Go to biggestmorning or phone 1300 65 65 85. Every cup counts in our fight for a cancer free future. Prof Jeff Dunn AO CEO, Cancer Council Queensland
