Show a hit for locals

Isis Town and Country - - Kolan News -

THE screams and cheers drifted across the Bruce Hwy last weekend as Gin Gin hosted the third show in two weeks throughout the region.

Excited crowds flocked to the showground to enjoy this year’s packed show schedule.

Locally grown fruit and vegetables were on display showcasing the best products in the region.

It was difficult for judges as they inspected dozens of entries and categories.

Event organiser Wendi Guy said this year’s show was a great success.

“We had record numbers thought the gates and fantastic numbers of entrants.

“The show continues to grow and it’s the community we need to thank,” she said.

Making an appearance at the show were local Miss Showgirl winner Rebecca Green, Rural ambassador Zac McNully and Tasma Gane, selling raffle tickets for the show society.

The 107th Gin Gin Show fireworks display had locals thrilled as the night sky lit up; highway traffic came to a standstill as the fireworks stopped curious drivers.

Once again, the tireless efforts of the committee produced a fun-filled weekend.
