BOOK lovers and avid readers gathered in Woodgate this week for their monthly Book Fest.

Organisers receive book donations from the community on a daily basis and the proceeds raised from the sale of the books supports the Cancer Council of Queensland.

Rosie McEwan said there are hundreds of books to sort through.

The Book Fest is growing in popularity and each month the stall has a new selection of fabulous second-hand books.

For two years the dedicated team at Woodgate set up tables with top quality second-hand books.

Mrs McEwan said if you have any pre-loved books she would welcome all donations.

“You can drop off your books at the general store on the Esplanade at Woodgate,” she said.

“We have fiction, non-fiction, adventure, romance and plenty of children’s books,”

It was a fantastic morning at Woodgate with dozens of people making purchases and all proceeds going to cancer research.
