Free wifi roll out in Childers
WITH the continued rollout of free public wifi across the region and more projects on the way, Bundaberg Regional Council is making it even easier for residents to stay connected.
Councillor Helen Blackburn said a number of the region’s parks and public spaces now had freely available internet access under the SwitchedOnBRC+ initiative.
“Residents can now connect to council’s public wifi through mobile devices and laptops in defined locations in Bundaberg, Gin Gin, Childers and Bargara under the switched on program,” Cr Blackburn said.
“These WiFi hotspots have been rolled out under the SwitchedOnBRC banner.” Mayor Jack Dempsey said over coming months, council will install the access points for public WiFi connection which will enable internet access throughout the CBD from a distance of up to 100m from the CCTV infrastructure.”
