Club Championships and June Monthly Medals The much needed and very welcome rain also had the unfortunate result that the Club Championships and Monthly Medals for June were washed out, so no results for Saturday’s games. This also means that those events will now be played this Saturday. Sadly some of our leading players will be unavailable for that day. Again, the starting time has been set at 11.30am to enable time for presentations at the close of play. A reminder: please bring a plate for an after-game snack.

The Thursday June Monthly Medal was won by Vicki McAulay with nett 74 from Coralie Volgyesi on 76. Vicki (1,85m) also claimed the approach shot. This Thursday members will determine the competition before hit-off. As recorded in the notes above, the washed out Club Championship and June Monthly Medal events will now be played this Saturday. Please bring a plate for an after-game snack. Remember: Hit-off at 11.30am

Vets enjoyed a single stableford competition on Tuesday. B Division was won by Ted Buckland with a steady 36 points from Ben Van Der Valk on 35, with Jennifer McKay on 32, third on a countback from Coralie Volgyesi. Niel Rieck and Ted Buckland led the Chook Run each with 28 nett from Ed Connell on 29 and Larry Pershouse won the spin with 34 nett. Next Tuesday, see you there for the par competition.

Isis Junior Carnival

A highly successful Junior Carnival was held on the course on Sunday. Over 70 players from across the Wide Bay and Capricornia competed, with a range of competitions for the 18 holers; the 13 holers; the 9 holers; the 6 holers; and even a competition for the 3 hole players. The organisers deserve high praise for the well-run, highly efficient management of the competition and for the splendid array of food from early morning through to lunch.

Unforunately rain cancelled many of the Childers region sporting events, meaning there are no results from some sports.

LOVELY GREENS: The Isis Golf Club is keen for prospective and visiting golfers to give them a try.
