Free reg­is­tra­tion for de-sex­ing

BUND­ABERG Re­gional Coun­cil is join­ing lo­cal vets to of­fer dis­counts as part of RSPCA Queens­land’s Oper­a­tion Wanted cam­paign.

Cr Peter Heuser said be­tween June and Au­gust 31 coun­cil would of­fer free reg­is­tra­tion for any dogs de-sexed at par­tic­i­pat­ing vets dur­ing the cam­paign.

“Seven lo­cal vets are of­fer­ing a 20 per cent dis­count on de-sex­ing as part of the Oper­a­tion Wanted cam­paign,” Cr Heuser said. “Af­ter tak­ing ad­van­tage of this dis­count, pet own­ers have the added ben­e­fit of re­ceiv­ing free dog reg­is­tra­tion for the 2016/2017 reg­is­tra­tion pe­riod. Hav­ing a de-sexed dogs also means you will re­ceive dis­counted reg­is­tra­tion each year there­after with an­nual reg­is­tra­tion fees for a de-sexed and mi­cro-chipped dog be­ing sig­nif­i­cantly lower than stan­dard reg­is­tra­tion fees.”
