Thursday, ABC, 8.30pm
Self-destructive criminal lawyer Cleaver Greene has etched a place in the hearts of many. Played with aplomb and complete believability by the excellent Richard Roxburgh (left), Rake has set a new standard for Aussie drama. Smart, unapologetically dark, but also bitingly funny, its fourth season is hitting all the right high (and low) notes. Tonight, after David’s (Matt Day) acquittal, Cleaver and Nicole (Kate Box) are concerned about Barney (Russell Dykstra), but then Cleaver gets himself disbarred and ex-wife Wendy (Caroline Brazier) kicks him out. Meanwhile, Jack is determined to get him out of Wendy’s life forever.
