Cancer Support Group helps Jono
SPEAKING from personal experience and managing his own battle with cancer, Raw Earth Food owner John Wolfe (Jono) has come to realise the need for health support in the region.
“There are many people struggling to cope on their own with their illness,” Mr Wolfe said.
Jono has recently undergone more tests and treatments into his own battle with cancer and is looking at helping others in his situation.
Jono, his staff and customers are working together to start up a cancer support group in Childers.
“Our intention is to hold meetings every second Tuesday from 5pm, we want to create a friendly, homely environment,” he said.
Jono understands the importance of having a healthy diet and plans on holding juicing and vegetarian food presentations for those who choose to make healthy changes.
“Everyone will have the opportunity to mingle, chat and exchange information in a relax atmosphere,” Jono said.
“Many of us get caught up in our own health issues and we don’t realise how much of a positive effect we can have on one another. Supporting one another can be a simple as listening to someone or having someone to talk too. Maybe you have great ideas or priceless information to share.”
If you can advise the group on strategies or for further information phone Jono on 0427 960 073 or feel free to visit the shop, 94 Churchill St, Childers.
RAW SUPPORT: Graham and Vicki Darby, Gypsy Sherlock, John Tornabene and John Wolfe.
