July 10: Isis bowlers hosted ICM bowlers playing for the Curruthers Shield which the ICM bowlers held.
Some Isis bowlers were on loan to the ICM club to even up the numbers.
Both teams won 3 rinks each with the scores being close all afternoon with the game going down to the wire Childers bowlers were unlucky with the ICM bowlers coming out winners 75/72. maybe we loaned the wrong players to the ICM club but it was a great afternoon enjoyed on the green.

Another visiting team will be playing against us this July 17. They are the Golden Shores Bowlers, should be a great day. The following July 24 Burrum Heads B.C. will also playing at our place.

The Captain’s team revenged the losses of previous years with a win in their annual Matchplay competition.
The scores were 7 to 5 in the Captain’s favour with a couple of matches drawn.
Congratulations to the winning team and to individual members of either team who won their matches.
The Captain’s team winners were Ray Walker, Larry Pershouse (Captain), Phil Luckett, Bob Champney, Monica Madsen, Joy Cartner and Jason Shaw (former member) against his wife Melissa.
The winners in the President’s team were Ross Nicol, Dean Page, Blake Dowling, Norm Plath and Harry Zawacki.
No doubt the President hopes his team reclaims the trophy in 2017.
Blake (10m) also won the A Division pinshot on 1&10 and Dean (0.57m) the B Division approach on the same hole. Joy won the Ladies’ approach on 6&15.
This Saturday, July 16, Bill and Jan Kingston sponsor our afternoon’s competition which is a single stableford. Members can look forward to another enjoyable afternoon and evening.
Finalists in the fourball best ball Matchplay are reminded to complete their match by Saturday August 13.
On Thursday Diane Rowley again won the competition, a single stroke event for the Monthly Medal, with a score of 76 nett, from Margaret Dennett on 78. Cecily Fay (1.93m) won the approach.
This Thursday’s competition will be announced prior to the game.
On Saturday, the ladies joined the men in the Matchplay competition between the Captain and the President’s teams, with results above.
This Saturday, members will participate in the single stableford competition sponsored by Bill and Jan Kingston. Vets
A large number of players enjoyed the warm afternoon’s single stableford conditions with some enjoying them more than others.
Norm Plath led the day with 41 points – forget the two shots on number 7, Norm – to win A Division from Kev Savage on 38 and Bill Cowan on 35.
Ed Connell with 38 points won B Division from Ken Backhaus on 36, second on a countback from Ray Burrowes.
Nigel Radin (0.105m) won the Men’s approach on 1&10; Rachel Cashin (in the hole) won the Ladies’ approach on 6&15; Kieth Rule (in the hole) won the Combined approach on 4&13.
Ben Van Der Valk led the Chook Run winners with 29 nett, from Norm Plath on 30, followed by Craig Reynolds and Vicki Wyeth on 31 each.
Next Tuesday we play the Monthly V.I.P. single stroke sponsored by the Woodgate crew – we look forward to another very successful day. Social
Sunday 3, July. A fresh start was waiting for 26 players who participated in the 18 hole monthly mug of stroke and putt. The winner on the day with an impressive 65 was Rob Blows who loses 3 strokes from his handicap.
Second and coming in with 69, on a count back from Allen Ball and Ross Nicole was Bill Long and he loses 1.7. Third place went to Allen Ball who lost a measly .8.
The least putts on the day went to Marg Dennett who would have to be happy with 25.
The A-Grade nearest the pin on the 1/10th hole went to Col Dennett and the B-Grade approach on the 1/10th hole went to Ray Burrows.
The combined longest drive was won by Domonic Mete, which he claims was the only time he got onto the ball.
Len Stallion Stallard won The Centre Fairway shot. Combined nearest the pin on the 6th hole went to Allen Ball and the men’s approach on the 15th was won by Paul McCarragher.
Next week we will be playing a two person Ambrose on the front nine.
Partners will be organised on the day. Hit off will be at 8.00 am but players are encouraged to be there early as an Ambrose does take a bit more organizing.
