July 10: Isis bowlers hosted ICM bowlers play­ing for the Cur­ruthers Shield which the ICM bowlers held.

Some Isis bowlers were on loan to the ICM club to even up the num­bers.

Both teams won 3 rinks each with the scores be­ing close all af­ter­noon with the game go­ing down to the wire Childers bowlers were un­lucky with the ICM bowlers com­ing out win­ners 75/72. maybe we loaned the wrong play­ers to the ICM club but it was a great af­ter­noon en­joyed on the green.

The Cap­tain’s team re­venged the losses of pre­vi­ous years with a win in their an­nual Match­play com­pe­ti­tion.

The scores were 7 to 5 in the Cap­tain’s favour with a couple of matches drawn.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to the win­ning team and to in­di­vid­ual mem­bers of ei­ther team who won their matches.

The Cap­tain’s team win­ners were Ray Walker, Larry Per­shouse (Cap­tain), Phil Luck­ett, Bob Champ­ney, Mon­ica Mad­sen, Joy Cart­ner and Ja­son Shaw (for­mer mem­ber) against his wife Melissa.

The win­ners in the Pres­i­dent’s team were Ross Ni­col, Dean Page, Blake Dowl­ing, Norm Plath and Harry Zawacki.

No doubt the Pres­i­dent hopes his team re­claims the tro­phy in 2017.

Blake (10m) also won the A Di­vi­sion pin­shot on 1&10 and Dean (0.57m) the B Di­vi­sion ap­proach on the same hole. Joy won the Ladies’ ap­proach on 6&15.

This Satur­day, July 16, Bill and Jan Kingston spon­sor our af­ter­noon’s com­pe­ti­tion which is a sin­gle stable­ford. Mem­bers can look for­ward to an­other en­joy­able af­ter­noon and evening.

Fi­nal­ists in the four­ball best ball Match­play are re­minded to com­plete their match by Satur­day Au­gust 13.


On Thurs­day Diane Row­ley again won the com­pe­ti­tion, a sin­gle stroke event for the Monthly Medal, with a score of 76 nett, from Mar­garet Den­nett on 78. Ce­cily Fay (1.93m) won the ap­proach.

This Thurs­day’s com­pe­ti­tion will be an­nounced prior to the game.

On Satur­day, the ladies joined the men in the Match­play com­pe­ti­tion be­tween the Cap­tain and the Pres­i­dent’s teams, with re­sults above.

This Satur­day, mem­bers will par­tic­i­pate in the sin­gle stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion spon­sored by Bill and Jan Kingston. Vets

A large num­ber of play­ers en­joyed the warm af­ter­noon’s sin­gle stable­ford con­di­tions with some en­joy­ing them more than oth­ers.

Norm Plath led the day with 41 points – for­get the two shots on num­ber 7, Norm – to win A Di­vi­sion from Kev Sav­age on 38 and Bill Cowan on 35.

Ed Con­nell with 38 points won B Di­vi­sion from Ken Back­haus on 36, sec­ond on a count­back from Ray Bur­rowes.

Nigel Radin (0.105m) won the Men’s ap­proach on 1&10; Rachel Cashin (in the hole) won the Ladies’ ap­proach on 6&15; Ki­eth Rule (in the hole) won the Com­bined ap­proach on 4&13.

Ben Van Der Valk led the Chook Run win­ners with 29 nett, from Norm Plath on 30, fol­lowed by Craig Reynolds and Vicki Wyeth on 31 each.

Next Tues­day we play the Monthly V.I.P. sin­gle stroke spon­sored by the Woodgate crew – we look for­ward to an­other very suc­cess­ful day. So­cial

Sun­day 3, July. A fresh start was wait­ing for 26 play­ers who par­tic­i­pated in the 18 hole monthly mug of stroke and putt. The win­ner on the day with an im­pres­sive 65 was Rob Blows who loses 3 strokes from his hand­i­cap.

Sec­ond and com­ing in with 69, on a count back from Allen Ball and Ross Ni­cole was Bill Long and he loses 1.7. Third place went to Allen Ball who lost a measly .8.

The least putts on the day went to Marg Den­nett who would have to be happy with 25.

The A-Grade near­est the pin on the 1/10th hole went to Col Den­nett and the B-Grade ap­proach on the 1/10th hole went to Ray Bur­rows.

The com­bined long­est drive was won by Domonic Mete, which he claims was the only time he got onto the ball.

Len Stal­lion Stal­lard won The Cen­tre Fair­way shot. Com­bined near­est the pin on the 6th hole went to Allen Ball and the men’s ap­proach on the 15th was won by Paul McCar­ragher.

Next week we will be play­ing a two per­son Am­brose on the front nine.

Part­ners will be or­gan­ised on the day. Hit off will be at 8.00 am but play­ers are en­cour­aged to be there early as an Am­brose does take a bit more or­ga­niz­ing.

Any-one in­ter­ested in join­ing the group just need to put in a friend re­quest.

Mem­bers are en­cour­aged to join the group so they can have their in­put, share pho­tos and give the com­mit­tee some ideas.
