Food and fun at the Childers Festival
WITH more than 400 food and market stalls set to line the streets of Childers this Sunday as part of the 2016 Childers Festival.
Bundaberg Regional Council Community and Cultural portfolio spokesperson Judy Peters said the festival would offer a wide variety of multicultural food stalls.
“The Childers Festival is an opportunity for many people to try something new, whether that be Greek, Japanese or Argentinian cuisine,” Cr Peters said.
“Of course our beautiful local produce will also be well represented with Vintners Secret Winery launching the 2016 Childers Festival Wine and Childers Butchery launching the 2016 Childers Festival sausage.
“There will be something for the sweet tooth as well with baked goods, lollies, fudge and ice cream among the tempting treats available.”
Cr Peters said the wide variety of market stalls on offer would make for an enjoyable day of browsing.
“Many stallholders will be offering hand-crafted, unique items that you can’t find in a shopping centre,” she said.
“These market stalls have a reputation for quality and variety.
