Rio 2016 Olympic Games: Opening Ceremony
Saturday, Seven, 9am
We’re talking about the city that puts on a Carnival every year that is arguably one of the world’s best parties, replete with samba dancers, elaborate costumes and street bands, so it’s safe to assume we’re in for a spectacular Opening Ceremony. It’s probably also safe to assume we won’t be seeing a cameo from the Queen. Watch the whole thing live (it’ll be far better than your usual Saturday morning cartoons), or wait for the highlights at 7pm. We’re guessing the interminable athletes’ parade will be first to hit the cutting room floor, save the appearance of the Australian team, led by flag bearer Anna Meares.
