Promoting sports in the region for community
ANYONE with a passion for sport or a desire to promote involvement in sporting activities is encouraged to apply for a position with the Bundaberg Regional Sport and Recreation Reference Group.
The region has many group sporting clubs and groups needing more supporting and funding.
Council’s Sport, Recreation and Venues portfolio spokesman Cr David Batt said expressions of interest for membership of the group close this Friday.
"Given the Bundaberg Region has such diversity of sporting and recreation involvement, Council is keen to form a reference group that can provide a broad view that is reflective of our sporting culture.
"The group will continue to assist Council in developing strategies and concepts to ensure sport and recreation evolves in a manner that meets community requirements.
"While the group will be comprised of no more than nine members we require four community participants and it is for these positions Council is inviting expressions of interest."
Cr Batt said the reference group would be appointed for a period of four years with four meetings scheduled per year or as demand required.
Expression of interest information packages may be found on Council’s website at www.bundaberg.qld.gov.au or by contacting Council on 1300 883 699.
Expressions of interest must be registered by close of business on Friday, August 26.
