ABBNOVA on stage in Childers
MEGGA ABBANOVA performed to a small but appreciative audience at the Isis Club last Sunday afternoon.
The funds raised are going towards Pilotlight Productions’ young members delegation to NIDA in October.
Tony Carey of Pilotlight said he needed help to get the group to NIDA.
“I have set up a Gofundme page, gofundme.com/pilotlightnida
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to our members.”
The dance troupe will hold its next fundraising afternoon with a Karaoke Competition on September 25 from 2pm at the Isis Club.
There will be a small entry fee, and those who go along will have the chance to win a $50 cash prize for best man and woman karaoke singer and also best male and female under 18.
Mr Carey is encouraging the community to support the fundraising effort to get the team to NIDA.
The Gofundme page has seen little action in more than a month, with a contribution totalling $140 falling well short of the group’s target.
Pilotlight Productions is a community-based not-for-profit association, dedicated to training local youth in all aspects of performance.
As a member of the Association of Community Theatre Inc, the ACT announced the program for its 23rd biennial convention, set for September 30 to October 3.
The team from Childers plans to organise a delegation to attend weekend of workshops.
