Region’s roads get resealed

Isis Town and Country - - News -

COUNCIL will invest one million dollars on re-sheeting of gravel roads across the region as part of a $5 million commitment to its roads resurfacing program this financial year.

Roads and Drainage portfolio spokesman Cr Wayne Honor said sections of roads right across the region were included in the scheduled re-gravelling work.

“It is proposed that Wonbah Rd including the Ave, Chavasse Dr, Duckpond and Moolboolaman Rds will be resurfaced by the crew from Gin Gin, while in the Childers area Heidkes, Settlement, Knudsens, Creeveys, Abington, Plantation and La Roccas Rds have sections included in the program.

“Other roads to also receive attention include Gillens Creek, Phillips, Jones, Adies and Monduran Rds.”

Cr Honor said it was also pleasing to see that local pit operators across the region would have an opportunity to benefit through supplying some of the material for this program.

The remainder of the budget allocation would be spent on bitumen reseals, asphalt overlays, asphalt rejuvenation and micro resurfacing.
