Isis Devils Women make it to the 2016 grand final
WITH a grin from ear to ear, Isis Devils Women’s team manager Ray Dilger has barely come down from the high of the news the girls have made it to the grand final.
It has been tough for the team during the season as the Devils struggled for a win.
The sheer determination and team work paved their way into the grand final this weekend in Bundaberg.
Dilger said he couldn’t stop smiling and he was on cloud nine.
“I am so very proud of the girls, it hasn’t been an easy ride for them this season but they have made it to the grand final,” he said.
“I know the team are striving for a grand final win and some of the girls are a force on the ground, we have a good chance in the final.”
All season the Past Brothers women’s team has been strong leaders on the field with 10 wins for the season.
Isis Devils failed to win a game for the entire season and managed to slide into the finals in their final game for the season.
Dilger said Neil had been a great captain for the team and she should be very proud of leading her team to the finals.
“We have had many strong players this season, and the team have learnt from every game and worked on ball skills and their defence,” he said.
“Win or loose the girls have done us proud.”
The women’s league only has three teams in this year’s competition and next year hopes to introduce more teams to the league.
This Sunday, Isis Devils take on Past Brothers at Salter Oval from 1pm.
Dilger said the team and coaching staff would like to thank the community for all their support shown to the women’s team this season.
