Shay’s our top pharmacy student

Isis Town and Country - - NEWS -

STUDYING for an OP is tough for most, but a passion for helping others has seen Friendlies Pharmacy trainee Shay Anderson go above and beyond.

The Isis District High School student is completing her school-based traineeship on top of her Year 12 studies, and her hard work has been recognised by the Queensland branch of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia which has crowned her Student of the Month.

“She is a constant wonder (juggling) all of her commitments and maintaining a high level of work,” Shay’s trainer Sharyn McErlean said.

“Shay is an outstanding student, and I’m continually impressed by her professionalism.

“Not only that, but Shay is a forward thinker. She anticipates what is required of her and goes above and beyond her duties without need for guidance.”

Shay’s love of pharmacy is simple – knowing that “by giving people medication, you’re helping them get better”.

“Everyone here is always willing to help – I’ve learned a lot.”

Shay will receive a student of the month certificate and go into the draw to win the 2016 Student of the Year, including a Full Pharmacy Assistant National Conference Registration for 2017.
