MOVIES Un­der the Stars will be show­ing at out­door venues across the re­gion in com­ing months.

Out­doors movies have proved to be pop­u­lar com­mu­nity events, with Bund­aberg Re­gional Coun­cil en­cour­ag­ing lo­cals to at­tend.

Mayor Jack Dempsey said with the foot­ball sea­son al­most “done and dusted” the op­por­tu­nity was ripe for fam­i­lies to take to the beau­ti­ful out­doors on a Fri­day night and en­joy a free fam­ily friendly movie at lo­ca­tions in Bund­aberg, Gin Gin and Childers.

“Movies Un­der the Stars” will start at Alexan­dra Park in Bund­aberg this Fri­day with the en­gag­ing fam­ily movie “Alvin and the Chip­munks – The Road Chip”.

“The Bund­aberg re­gion boasts some of the na­tion’s best weather and we want fam­i­lies to take a few hours to en­joy the op­por­tu­nity to bring along blan­kets and fold­ing chairs and watch the movie on the big screen pro­vided.

“There is ab­so­lutely no charge to at­tend the screen­ing which starts at 7pm, with food and drinks avail­able for sale from 6pm,” Cr Dempsey said.

“This is all about en­joy­ing our re­gion, en­joy­ing fam­ily time and free en­ter­tain­ment.”

Com­mu­nity and Cul­tural Ser­vices port­fo­lio spokes­woman Cr Judy Peters said res­i­dents in Gin Gin would have a show­ing of a movie at Gin Gin Show­grounds on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 28.

“Childers res­i­dents can at­tend Apex Tramway Park in Cres­cent St on Fri­day, Novem­ber 25.

Cr Peters said the coun­cil strongly sup­ported fam­ily units and free movies pro­vided an op­por­tu­nity for all res­i­dents to en­joy the glo­ri­ous spring even­ings and com­mu­nity in­ter­ac­tion.
