CHILDERS DISTRICT SOCIAL GOLF
SUNDAY, October 2 and our first 7.30am tee off for the hotter months had 19 members playing 18 holes of Stroke and Putt for our October monthly mug.
The winner of the mug was Bill Long scoring an impressive 57 and losing 4.8 from his handicap.
In second place was Len “Stallion” Stallard with 61 and losing 3.4.
Bill Kirchhoff came in third with 61 losing 1.9 from his handicap.
There were some other relatively low scores to be had on the day and much to the handicapper’s disgust got away unscathed.
Bill Long, with a birdy putt, won the B-grade Approach on the 1/10th.
He also had the least amount of putts with 23.
The Combined Nearest the Pin on the 4/13th went to Bob Frasser who is now the current holder of the Golden Circle at 1.81m.
The combined Nearest the Pin on the 6th went to Hoss Eberl who also won the Men’s Approach on the 15th hole and the Combined Longest Drive.
The Combined Approach on the 5th/14th hole was won by Bob Frasser.
The Ladies Nearest the Pin on the 15th was won by Marg Dennett who also won the Centre Fairway Drive.
Someone from outside our group has walked away with markers we use to determine winners of the Centre Fairway Drive.
If anyone knows of the whereabouts of these markers it would be appreciated if they were returned.
Players are also reminded to check their score cards. Even if you didn’t fill your cards in, if you sign them and they are wrong you will be disqualified.
Next week we will be playing Stableford on the front nine with a 7.30am tee off.
As always, new members and visitors are welcome to join us every Sunday morning.
