RESIDENTS and staff enjoyed a glass of bubbly to celebrated Forest View’s 37th birthday.

In 1979, Forest View opened the independent living accommodation unit and in 1993 the aged care facility opened its doors.

The spectacular 8.9ha property houses 34 independent living units, 26 residential care rooms, a respite room, 15 home care consumer directed care and palliative care house.

To celebrate the joyous occasion, staff and residents fired up the barbecue and enjoyed lunch and cake in the courtyard of the complex.

It was perfect weather for the residents to sit outdoors now that winter has past.

The residents were treated to entertainment performed by the Isis Multicultural Group.

Welcoming guests and residents Tanya Higgins congratulated all the nursing staff and management for the dedication to the facility.

“I want to thank firstly the efforts our previous CEO Jenny Nixon, she dedicated 23 years and has made it was it is today,” Ms Higgins said.

“We welcome in our new CEO Matthew Blunden and I know he has great ideas for the facilitates and will lead us on to great new things.”

Barry Heatherington said the staff are fantastic and we all get great support and care.

“It’s great to be here celebrating 37 years, I know we won’t be here in another 37 years to celebrate so it’s a great occasion,” he said.

“Forest View has plenty to offer its residents and I’m happy living here.”
