Bundaberg Patrol Group busy at crash

Isis Town and Country - - News -

BETWEEN 6.30am and 12.30pm last Monday, Bundaberg Patrol Group officers attended 19 traffic incidents.

These included two crashes involving a cane train/truck.

A truck collided with a cane train on Knockroe Rd shortly before 10am.

No person was injured. Cane bins left the rails, requiring heavy machinery to lift them back on track.

There were incidents on the Bruce Highway at Takilberan and South Isis; Knockroe Rd, North Isis; and Childers Rd, Elliott.

Police said they were not sure what the big rush was or the reason why this was happening all at once, and asked everyone to slow down.

Speed limits were there for a reason, to keep everyone safe, police said.

“Lights and signs are also in place for a reason, again to keep everyone safe.”

Cane trains operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
