Students celebrate healthy living

Joondalup Times - - STREET WATCH -

DUNCRAIG students played bubble soccer, challenged teachers and showed their talents at a recent three-day healthy living festival.

The Alive Festival at Duncraig Senior High School encouraged students and staff to improve their mental, physical and social health.

Activities included an inflatable obstacle course, archery tag, chill zone with mindfulness activities, extended recess and lunch breaks, health expo and staff versus student tournaments.

There were also motivational talks and performances by local musician Kurt Carrera and band The Faux.

School chaplain Jayden Brand organised the event, which has been running for 12 years. “It’s a great opportunity for the whole school community, staff and students to have a bit of fun, be encouraged after a full semester, for positive relationships to be continually established and to hit the second half of the year with a bit of fresh air,” he said.
