ENGINES REV UP IN THE WEST
MOTORSPORT action roars into Perth and surrounds when WA’s premier tarmac rally, Quit Targa West, runs from August 10 to 13.
The 13th Targa West has attracted 57 teams in a mix of performance, classic and exotic vehicles, ready to race the clock on some of WA’s most iconic roads.
The Ceremonial Start is from 11am to 1.30pm at Forrest Place on Thursday, after which competitors will head to special stages in Wanneroo and Malaga.
Racing for the fastest time over 242 competitive kilometres, stages will be held at Barbagallo Raceway and in Malaga, Whiteman Park, Kalamunda and the infamous ZigZag, as well as the picturesque open country roads of Toodyay, Lower Chittering and Bullsbrook, before the grand finale Super Stage at Langley Park on Sunday from noon.
Fans can see the cars on display in James Street, Northbidge, on Friday night from 6pm to 9pm.
Spectating is free and all 34 stages feature locations where the public can seethe action.
