EN­GINES REV UP IN THE WEST

MO­TOR­SPORT ac­tion roars into Perth and sur­rounds when WA’s pre­mier tar­mac rally, Quit Targa West, runs from Au­gust 10 to 13.

The 13th Targa West has at­tracted 57 teams in a mix of per­for­mance, clas­sic and ex­otic ve­hi­cles, ready to race the clock on some of WA’s most iconic roads.

The Cer­e­mo­nial Start is from 11am to 1.30pm at For­rest Place on Thurs­day, after which com­peti­tors will head to spe­cial stages in Wan­neroo and Malaga.

Racing for the fastest time over 242 com­pet­i­tive kilo­me­tres, stages will be held at Barba­gallo Race­way and in Malaga, White­man Park, Kala­munda and the in­fa­mous ZigZag, as well as the pic­turesque open coun­try roads of Toodyay, Lower Chit­ter­ing and Bulls­brook, be­fore the grand fi­nale Super Stage at Lan­g­ley Park on Sun­day from noon.

Fans can see the cars on dis­play in James Street, North­bidge, on Fri­day night from 6pm to 9pm.

Spec­tat­ing is free and all 34 stages fea­ture lo­ca­tions where the pub­lic can seethe ac­tion.
