School leading the way

Joondalup Times - - OPINION -

WARWICK Senior High School is a state leader in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) education.

It is one of five secondary school finalists in this year’s Governor’s School STEM Awards for its support and commitment in developing STEM education programs.

Governor Kerry Sanderson congratulated finalists on their achievements.

“Today’s students will be stepping into the jobs of the future and STEM skills will be vital to their success in these yet-to-be-imagined roles,” she said.

Science Minister Dave Kelly said 75 per cent of Australian’s fastest-growing occupations required STEM skills.

Judges will visit the finalist schools late this month and winners will be announced at a ceremony on November 27.
