Lions happy to help

WANNEROO Lions Club partnered with Hocking Primary School last term for their centennial project.

Club members helped revamp the early childhood playground area for its community project to celebrate 100 years of Lions clubs helping the community.

They donated time, materials and funds to upgrade the playground which complements the new nature playground.

Principal Steve Dickson said the volunteers helped early childhood staff create a more vibrant area for the young students where they could develop friendships.

“It provides an amazing opportunity for kids to be creative and imaginative in their play,” he said. “The Lions provided resources and manpower to support staff and parent volunteers build bright colourful play structures; they built cars out of packing crates.”

Mr Dickson said the Lions participated in a busy bee at the school before the nature playground installation finished in September.
