City plans for rates increase
RESIDENTIAL rates in the City of Wanneroo could increase by 2.95 per cent next financial year, with the minimum rate set at $980.
The council recently approved the differential general rates for its draft 2018-19 Budget and advertising the proposed rates for public submissions.
The proposed rates would deliver an overall rate revenue increase of 3.5 per cent.
However, the rate for vacant commercial properties is set to increase by 5.35 per cent, while for vacant residential lots the proposed increase is 10.68 per cent.
The report said the cost of waste had been excluded from the rates increase.
Any submissions received by tomorrow’s deadline will be considered as part of the budget adoption process in late June.
