A MAN who struck a security guard with a brick after hurling it at him in the carpark of a Girrawheen shopping centre last month is still at large. Police said the victim had asked the offender to move his bike because it was blocking the entrance to the shopping centre about 8.05am on May 13 on Marangaroo Drive. “The owner then picked up a brick and threw it at the guard, causing immediate pain, and then threatened the guard with a long piece of wood,” a police statement said. Investigators believe the man pictured can help with inquiries. He was thought to be 165cm tall and aged about 18. Contact Crime Stoppers with information and quote reference number 8912.
DO you recognise this man? Joondalup detectives believe he can help with inquiries into a crime that happened last month. Investigators are hoping a distinctive circular tribal tattoo on the right side of his neck will help identify him. He also had a recent injury on top of his head. POLICE arrested a 27-year-old Noranda man after a highspeed chase through Padbury last week. Officers attempted to stop a green Holden Commodore on Warburton Avenue around 10.30pm on June 7. The driver allegedly failed to stop and drove recklessly through various streets before heading northbound on the Mitchell Freeway. The man was arrested a short time later on Ninnis Place North and police discovered a handgun during a search of his car. Police have charged the man with possessing a firearm with circumstances of aggravation, driving a vehicle with forged, replica or false plates, having no authority to drive, failure to comply with a direction to stop and reckless driving to escape police pursuit. He will appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on June 29.
