Woman charged for driv­ing into crowd

PO­LICE charged a 27-year-old woman af­ter an in­ci­dent in which she al­legedly ran down a group of peo­ple and crashed her car into a fence in Pad­bury.

Po­lice say a woman was talk­ing to the oc­cu­pants of a house in Mac­Don­ald Av­enue just be­fore 10pm on Fri­day night.

A quar­rel en­sued, and the oc­cu­pants of the house started throw­ing things at the woman’s car, a Mit­subishi Magna sedan.

The woman drove away from the house, but re­turned a few min­utes later and al­legedly drove at the oc­cu­pants of the house who were stand­ing in the drive­way and front yard.

A 23-year-old woman suf­fered a bro­ken an­kle, cuts and abra­sions.

The driver then al­legedly drove at a fence on the prop­erty, caus­ing sig­nif­i­cant dam­age to the ve­hi­cle.

The driver, a South Hed­land woman, was taken to Royal Perth Hospi­tal for mi­nor in­juries. She was charged with driv­ing with a blood al­co­hol limit in ex­cess of 0.08 and an act or omis­sion caus­ing bod­ily harm.
