Joondalup Times - - NEWS -

Genrefonix and the Gravity Discovery Centre team up for a stellar musical production, Walbrininy.

SOUNDS of the universe have inspired a musical production at the Gravity Discovery Centre this weekend.

Performance artists Genrefonix will stage Walbrininy on August 11 and 12 as part of National Science Week activities.

The performance will take the audience through the venue and include the arrival of an alien and spaceship.

The centre’s lead astronomer Rick Tonello, Noongar Elder Noel Nannup and the Moorditj Mob dancers will form the welcome party for the alien.

The show will include sci-fi film sequences, live music and Indigenous storytelling to uncover a world of spiralling neutron stars and demonstrate how scientists ‘listen to the universe’ following the detection of gravitational waves.
